​

“잔칫집에 온 신랑 친구들이 신랑이 함께 있는 동안에야

어떻게 단식을 할 수 있겠느냐?

신랑이 함께 있는 동안에는 그럴 수 없다.

낡은 옷에 새 천 조각을 대고 깁는 사람은 없다.

그렇게 하면 낡은 옷이 새 천 조각에 켕겨

더 찢어지게 된다.”

(마르2,18-22)

As long as they have the bridegroom

with them they cannot fast.

No one sews a piece of unshrunken cloth

on an old cloak.

If he does, its fullness pulls away,

the new from the old, and the tear gets worse.
